Excellent product but handle with care January 7, 2010

These are great candles for three reasons:
1) They use little power ... batteries last a LONG time (several weeks, in my experience).
2) Flames are more realistic-looking than most battery-powered candles I've seen. Good flickering effect.
3) Tapered part of candle is apparently actually made out of wax - realistic look (and even feel!).
One thing of which to be aware with these candles is that because the tapered part is made of wax, it can crack if too much force is applied, and this may vary with temperature. When I say "too much force," I don't mean that much force ... I've already cracked two candles just by unscrewing the base part where the batteries are inserted, and one other candle cracked when falling about five feet onto a carpet.
This does not mean I wouldn't recommend this product ... I personally bought more to replace the ones I cracked ... I would just recommend you be careful handling them.
